2006年4月18日，经四川省教育厅人文社会科学重点研究基地应用心理学研究中心评审会领导和专家组成员的检查、评议，成都医学院应用心理学研究中心被认定为四川省教育厅人文社会科学重点研究基地并更名为四川应用心理学研究中心。成都医学院应用心理学研究中心，是2004年8月原第三军医大学成都军医学院整体移交地方更名为成都医学院后，于当年9月正式成立的。
