Rice is the most important cereal crop governing food security in Asia. Reliable and regular information on the area under rice production is the basis of policy decisions related to imports, export...
A receptor-like protein RMC is involved in regulation of iron acquisition in rice
Fe concentration iron defiiency OsRMC rice (Oryza sativa) root system seed Fe concentration
<
2015/2/5
Iron (Fe) is one of the essential mineral elements for plant growth and development. Acquisition of Fe by plants is mediated by a complex network involving Fe mobilization, uptake by root cells, and t...
Physiological mechanisms underlying OsNAC5-dependent tolerance of rice plants to abiotic stress
Abiotic stress Abscisic acid Arabidopsis Oryza OsNAC5 Seed germination
<
2015/2/5
To understand the functions of transcription factor OsNAC5 in response to abiotic stress, we generated transgenic rice plants with knockdown OsNAC5 by RNAinterfered (RNAi) and overexpressing OsNAC5, a...
Genetical Studies on Germination of Seed and Seedling Establishment for Breeding of Improved Rice Varieties Suitable for Direct Seeding Culture
Oryza sativa L. quantitative trait loci marker-assisted selection

For the introduction of low temperature germinability (LTG),seed longevity and accelerated coleoptile growth derived from foreign varieties to Japanese elite varieties to breed rice varieties for dire...
Improved Lodging Resistance in Rice (Oryza sativa L.) Cultivated by Submerged Direct Seeding Using a Newly Developed Hill Seeder
hill-seeding seeding method
<
2009/9/9
Submerged direct-seeded rice is more susceptible to lodging during the ripening period than is transplanted rice. Comparing different seeding methods of direct seeding cultivation, lodging resistance ...

High germinability of seeds and establishment of young seedlings in rice (Oryza sativa L.) are necessary for direct seeding in paddy fields. We investigated whether germinability and seedling growth w...
Variation in Spikelet-Related Traits of Rice Plants Regenerated from Mature Seed-Derived Callus Culture
Callus Regenerated plants Rice Spikelet fertility
<
2009/7/23
Callus is an excellent source for in vitro plant regeneration, but plants regenerated from callus sometimes show phenotypic and genotypic variation from the initial plants. In this study, the variatio...
