河北省节水农业重点实验室挂靠于中国科学院遗传与发育生物学研究所农业资源研究中心，于2005年7月河北省科技厅批准立项建设、运行。实验室以提高农业水资源的利用效率为核心，根据河北省以及华北地区水资源特征、区域农业经济发展特点和水平，通过节水农业前沿领域基础理论和关键技术创新、节水产品研发、水资源管理的综合研究，为水资源的持续利用和农业可持续发展提供理论、技术和决策支持。

河南农业大学于1981后创建了我国第一个农村能源专业和与此相配套的可再生能源实验室。2003年被批准为博士后流动站。肩负着教学与科研双重任务，承担着农业建筑环境与能源工程专业4门专业基础课和4门实验课、教学任务。近年来，该实验室已取得科研成果60多项，在国内外重要学术刊物上发表研究论文280多篇。

农业部沼气科学研究所是1979年经国务院222号文批准成立。1981年中国政府与联合国开发计划署签订协议在该所成立了“中国成都亚太区域沼气研究和培训中心”，是我国唯一的国际性沼气技术研究和培训中心。主要从事生物质能资源开发及综合利用技术研究；厌氧微生物应用基础理论和应用技术研究；工业有机废水、城镇生活污水、大型畜禽养殖场废弃物厌氧消化处理及达标排放处理研究。
