大连外国语学院法语专业始建于1973年，至今已走过30个年头。法语系前身为西语系法语教研室。法语系现有专业教师17人，其中教授1人，副教授6人。法语系设有加拿大法语语言文化研究所。近年来，全体教师的辛勤的劳动结出了丰硕的成果，已正式出版的成果有《加拿大法语语言文化论文集》（收有三十二篇文章，33万字）、《枫叶国童话故事选》。
