由日本东北大学中微子科学研究中心等研究机构组成的国际研究小组通过名为“KamLAND”的观测装置观测发现，地球向宇宙空间散发的热量中，有一半来自地球内部的放射性物质产生的热量，另一半则是46亿年前地球诞生时产生的热量。这一研究成果7月17日刊登在英国《自然―地球科学》杂志电子版上。
