福建农林大学2015年11月3日在此间发布,2015年11月2日,国际权威学术刊物《自然·遗传学》在线发表了该校明瑞光教授团队的研究成果“菠萝基因组与景天酸代谢光合作用的演化”。该项研究在全世界首次破译菠萝基因组的基础上,首次阐明了菠萝中的景天酸光合作用基因是通过改变调控序列演化而来,并且受昼夜节律基因的调控,从而找到景天酸代谢植物的“光合开关”。这是国内破译的首个热带植物基因组。

植物通过细胞表面免疫受体识别来自于病原微生物的分子,激活天然免疫;而病原微生物通过向植物细胞分泌效应蛋白,这些蛋白往往通过翻译后修饰宿主蛋白,抑制天然免疫反应;植物通过进化,利用动植物中保守的、定位于胞质的NLR类型的免疫受体识别效应蛋白,重新激活免疫反应。研究胞内免疫受体识别病原微生物效应蛋白的分子机制不仅有助于理解植物与病原微生物间的进化关系,还能为研究动物天然免疫机理提供线索。
