清华大学生物医学工程系博士生导师白净教授,1956年生于长春。1981-1985就读于美国Drexel大学并获博士学位，1988年受聘于清华大学担任讲师、副教授、教授、博导。1995年获国家自然科学基金委的"国家杰出青年科学基金"支持。2001年入选教育部生物医学工程学科"长江学者特聘教授"， 2001年当选IEEE Fellow。
