中国科学技术大学高能核物理课题组与美国布鲁克海文国家实验室（BNL）和山东大学等单位的联合研究团队，在RHIC-STAR国际合作组中发挥重要作用，首次在高能重离子碰撞过程中观测到源自纯能量的物质/反物质对的产生，并发现该过程中存在真空双折射的迹象，文章日前发表在《物理评论快报》 Phys. Rev. Lett.127(2021) 52302。
